Step up your safety game with UBC Alert

As part of our regular testing program, UBC Alert will be sending out a test notification to UBC Vancouver campus students, faculty, and staff via a phone call and text message on Friday, January 26.

UBC Alert is the university’s mass notification system to send alerts in urgent situations that pose an immediate safety or security risk to the community. As the test notification will be sent to your mobile number on record, it is important to check that your contact information is up to date on Workday and a correct mobile number is included.

All staff and faculty who have included a mobile number in their Workday contact information will automatically registered with the system to get notifications. Students will have to login to the UBC Student Service Centre (SSC) and register for UBC Alert with their mobile number.

UBC Alert system works in tandem with UBC Safe App, and a push notification will also be sent through the app during this test. We strongly encourage UBC students, faculty, and staff to download the UBC Safe App and turn on push notifications to receive timely updates for safety and security risk to the community.
